Swiss Luxury Watchmaker Ulysse Nardin Introduces the Blast Rainbow & Lady Diver Rainbow as an Ode to the Silicium Escapement

An ode to an exellent innovation in luxury watchmaking, Silicium Escapement

Ulysse Nardin has released the Blast Rainbow and the Lady Diver Rainbow.

Ulysse Nardin has unveiled updated iterations of the Lady Diver (39 mm) and Blast Tourbillon (45 mm) to celebrate one of its most important innovations: the silicium escapement.

Both timepieces are influenced by the spectrum of hues found in silicium. Gemstones in vivid hues of purple, green, blue, and pink are set in their bezels to create a "rainbow" impression when exposed to light. At Geneva Watch Days, you may see the Ulysse Nardin Blast Rainbow and the Ulysse Nardin Lady Diver Rainbow (August 29th to September 1st).

The Blast Rainbow is a 45 mm wristwatch with a platinum micro-rotor at 12 o'clock, and its skeleton "X" dial features intricate and geometric designs that completely upend conventional watch design. Fifty rubies and sapphire baguette gemstones were used to adorn the bezel and indexes of this timepiece.

The UN-172 calibre movement with Silicium technology (escapement wheel, anchor, and balance spring) is housed in a black DLC titanium case and sealed with a black ceramic polished and sandblasted upper case to make the BLAST water resistant to a depth of 50 metres and power the automatic flying tourbillon. Each of the fifty watches in this limited edition is priced at $87,900 and has a black DLC titanium and black ceramic self-deploying clasp, a waterproof velvet rubber strap, your choice of a black alligator strap, and a power reserve of 72 hours.

There's a new Lady Diver Rainbow, and you can get it in either black or white. The newest iteration of the Lady Diver, released in 2019, has been upgraded with flashy new flourishes. No matter how far down you go in this new watch, the concave unidirectional bezel will catch the light from the forty stones embedded in it (ruby, aquamarine, topaz, tsavorite, and sapphire). The radiance of this exquisite dive watch is heightened by the eleven diamonds that serve as indices.

The 39mm Lady Diver Rainbow is a sporty and modern watch that is also resistant to depths of up to 300 metres of water. Each DIVER watch is powered by a UN-816 automatic movement using Silicium technology, which accurately keeps track of the hours, minutes, seconds, and date. Both the white and black variants are limited to 300 pieces and are available with either a white or black structured rubber strap for $13,600.
