On its 60th Anniversary, The Art Dealers Association of America is Conducting its Grandest Art Expo, With 78 Different Exhibitors

For its 2022 edition, which will take place at the Park Avenue Armory from November 3 to November 6 (with a preview day on November 2), the Art Dealers Association of America has announced the participation of 78 galleries.

This year, in celebration of the organization's 60th anniversary, it will host the largest-ever version of its acclaimed Art Show, which will feature participation from top galleries such as David Zwirner, Lisson, Galerie Lelong & Co., Nara Roesler, Kasmin, Petzel, Matthew Marks Gallery, and Sean Kelly, among others.

Lehmann Maupin, Paula Cooper Gallery, Mitchell Innes & Nash, and Anton Kern Gallery, all of whom have been ADAA members but have not participated in the Art Show in recent years, have all confirmed their participation. Many new ADAA members, such as Almine Rech, Gavlak, Derek Eller Gallery, and Parrash Heijnen, will be showing work in this edition as well.

Despite the saturation of art fairs around the world, the ADAA continues to be the favourite fair of many dealers, myself included, due to its intimate scale, proximity to collectors, and the genuine sense of camaraderie that is felt between participating galleries," said dealer Susan Sheehan, who chaired this year's selection committee for the Art Show. It's safe to say that this year's ADAA members are more energised than ever because to the 60th anniversary, which serves as a visible symbol of the organization's growth and maturity.

There will be 55 one-person shows in the upcoming edition, including works by Raul Guerrero at David Kordansky, Ricardo Brey at Alexander Gray Associates, Toshiko Takaezu at James Cohan, Robert Morris at Castelli Gallery, Lynda Benglis at Cheim & Reid, and Juanita McNeely at James Fuentes, among others.

The ADAA has created a new programme, the Sustainability Roadmap, that will examine the effects of the fair's output on global warming for this and future editions. The initiative's stated mission is to "define short, mid, and long term targets to promote stronger sustainability practises moving ahead, not just for The Art Show, but for art shows globally."

It has been 30 years since the Art Show was established to aid the Henry Street Settlement, a charity providing social services in the Lower East Side. The VIP preview and ticket purchases will benefit Henry Street in full.

The ADAA's executive director, Maureen Bray, released a statement in which she expressed her pride in the organization's collaboration with Henry Street Settlement. For the last 35 years, The Art Show has supported the Settlement, one of the nation's oldest and most storied providers of social services, arts, and health care, and the two organisations have worked together in innovative ways during that period.
