Iconic 351 Year Old Hudson's Bay Canada Pumps USD 30 Million in Latest Social Impact Platform

One of the most historic and iconic companies which also happens to be the oldest and longest-surviving company in North America, Hudson’s Bay has done something really unique.

It has introduced a unique social impact platform, known as Hudson’s Bay Charter for Change. The core objective of this social impact platform is to foster racial equity and inclusion in the beautiful country of Canada.

Hudson’s Bay Charter for Change has been introduced vide the Hudson Bay Foundation with an obligation of around 30 million Canadian dollars in the coming decade.

Education, employment and empowerment would be the three crucial areas that the Hudson Bay Foundation would have its strong attention on. Hudson's Bay has joined hands with five strong partners for this particular social initiative. The respected fashion retailer is working with Indspire, Black Youth Helpline, CEE Centre For Young Black Professionals, CPAC Foundation, and MLSE Foundation.

The Canada based Fashion retailer is confident of positively impacting more than 300,000 people's lives through the offerings brought forward by Hudson’s Bay Charter for Change.

Strong initiatives

Among the many initiatives that Hudson’s Bay Charter for Change would undertake; some of the specific ones would include offering of scholarships and bursaries for First Nations, Métis and Inuit students pursuing post-secondary education; empowering Black youth with career readiness and training programs in crucial sectors. The platform would also focus on sport to impart life skills empowering racialized communities while also upgrading academic engagement and workplace preparedness.

Hudson’s Bay president and CEO Iain Nairn expressed recently that Racial equity was one of the most urgent challenges staring at society, and Hudson’s Bay Charter for Change would aim to bring about a substantial and quantifiable change that would create a positive difference in the lives of Canadian citizens.

Iain also opined that as 350-year old company, Hudson’s Bay has a responsibility to take action towards the creation of a fair and equitable Canada for everyone.

Hudson’s Bay Charter for Change

This is indeed a very noble initiative by Hudson's Bay; a fashion retailer from Canada that has survived and thrived for more than three and a half centuries. The Hudson’s Bay Charter for Change will surely create a lot of opportunities for everyone in the Canadian society and would also impact the world overall in a positive way.
