From Forest to Home - Anavila's Birhor-Inspired Sanctuary Collection Embraces Mindful Living

The Philosophy of Unhurried Living

"For how many years did I wander slowly through the forest? What wonder and glory I would have missed had I ever been in a hurry!" - Mary Oliver.

Rooted in nature, shaped by necessity, and guided by mindfulness. A home where simplicity meets intention, honoring craft, and tradition. In harmony with the Earth, where every choice is conscious and purposeful. A sanctuary of balance—unhurried, present, and deeply connected.

Nature's Rhythm: Taking Only What We Need

The natural rhythm of life lies in taking only what is essential from nature to sustain us and making conscious choices in every aspect of our lives. The food we eat, the clothes we wear, the bed we sleep on—each is rooted in a deep connection to nature, shaped by necessity and a slower pace. Overconsumption disrupts this harmony, taking more than needed and leaving little room for the earth to breathe.

As our perspective shifts toward speed—fast fashion, fast food, and the rapid extraction of raw materials—our lives accelerate. Yet today, a return to mindful living is upon us. As a civilization, we are rediscovering a deeper purpose, realizing that a slower, more intentional way of life preserves traditions, crafts, and communities.

The Birhor Connection: Indigenous Wisdom

The first edition of our House & Home series embraces this mindfulness, drawing inspiration from the Birhor people of the forest, whose connection to the land is their way of life. Birhor, an indigenous tribe from Jharkhand, embodies authenticity, warmth, and an intimate bond with nature. Imagine a minimalist home nestled deep within the forest, where life unfolds naturally—unhurried, present, and deeply rooted. An earthy, balanced color palette cultivates tranquility, inviting moments of stillness and reflection. Our table linen compliments your choice of freshest ingredients on your table, bed linen nourishes you with comfort and support and decor item creates an environment of peace and harmony within and around.

In this unfortified way of life, nature is not merely a resource but an equal partner. The land-shared by trees, animals, and humans-nurtures mindfulness. Every action, whether simple or intricate, honors the delicate balance of giving and receiving, deepening our connection with the earth.
